Assistant Chief Jon Gudmundsen

Assistant Chief Jon Gudmundsen started in the fire service in 1988, volunteering with his small hometown department in Grays River, WA.  In 1989, he enrolled in Bates Technical College Fire Service Training Program and also became a resident firefighter/EMT with South Kitsap Fire and Rescue (then KCFD #7).  He was hired full-time by SKFR in 1991.

 

Since his initial employment with SKFR; Jon has filled the role of Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Battalion Chief, Division Chief of Operations and Division Chief of Professional Development.  During his career he has committed himself to numerous roles, committees and projects for SKFR, the firefighters local (L2876), the Chiefs local (L3817) and contributed towards the collaboration and growth of the region’s fire service.

 

Promoted to Assistant Chief in January of 2025, Jon now serves as Chief of the Kitsap County Fire Training Consortium (KCFTC). The KCFTC oversees the collaborative training and development of roughly 500 firefighters from our county’s six fire departments.

 

Jon and his wife Angie have a combined seven kids and three grandchildren.  They share their spare time with kids, grandkids, their home in Poulsbo and a family farm in SW Washington.  When time allows, they like to get away for a good road trip or a crazy adventure.

Battalion Chief Dan Mustard

Chief Mustard has been with Bremerton Fire since 1998, starting as a Firefighter and now a Battalion Chief. He has an Associates Degree from Olympic College.  He is now assigned to the Kitsap County Fire Training Consortium as the head of Fire Operations Training.

Division Chief Mike Mock

Chief Mock started in 2000 at North Kitsap Fire and Rescue. He has obtained a BA in  Fire Administration from Eastern Oregon and a Leadership certificate from UW/ Seattle Fire Executive Leadership Academy. Sat on KCIMP committee, RIT Tag, R2-TF-1 tech rescue team, Wildland Team, and taught at numerous Fire Academies. Chief Mock has led the IMS pillar with KCFTC, and now Academy Program Director for past 2 years.

Captain Stanley has been in the fire service since 1992. In 2003 Captain Stanley attend paramedic school through Tacoma Fire Department, as paramedic he thoroughly enjoyed opportunities to teach, precept and mentor future and new providers. Since the beginning of 2024 he has been assigned to split his time with KCFTC, as well as his home agency, Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue. Both Trevor and his brother Travis, who works for Seattle Fire Department, travel to Cambodia every year and teach EMS and Vehicle Extrication.  In 2024 they had the honor of teaching the Cadre at the National Police Academy of Cambodia the skills to be Train the Trainers for the regional academies.

Kenny is currently assigned to the Training Consortium from South Kitsap Fire for a two year tour. Kenny arrived with 14 years in the Fire Service with a concentrated background in Technical Rescue disciplines. His hopes are to become a valuable asset to our county members in order to continue to develop and enhance our overall training experience.

Lieutenant Forest Hietpas

fhietpas@kcftc.org

Forest has been in the fire service since 2010 and career with Bainbridge since 2015.  

His fire service passions include education, team development and mission-oriented community service.

Outside of the fire service he is heavily invested in his wife, dogs and endurance athletics.

Apparatus Operator Jeff Rye has been in the fire service for the last 20 years, he has spent majority of his career at his current agency, Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue. Jeff was assigned to Kitsap County Training Consortium at the beginning of 2024 to support technical rescue training. He is also a member of KSORT and is one of two people in Washington State that holds the US&R Rescue Specialist certificate from Texas A&M.

Sadie joined the KCFTC at the beginning of 2024 to bring administrative expertise to the consortium. Her background boasts experience in, administrative supports, event planning and management, and collaboration.  Please feel free to reach out for any KCFTC administrative needs.
